ZAP MAMA is the music act of Belgian artist Marie Daulne. Zap Mama sings polyphonic and Afro-Pop music; a harmonic music with a mixture of infused African vocal techniques, Urban, Hip-Hop with emphasis on voice. The worldwide success of Zap Mama, and an ensemble of female polyphonic singers, inspired influences in American Hip Hop, Nu-Soul, Jazz and elements of Pop. The evolving musical compositions created a diverse band of singers and musicians for Zap Mama.Singing songs in French and English with African World Music Roots.
FREDY MASSAMBA was born in Pointe-Noire (Congo). It did not take long before music became his tool as a true passion ! For a while he had been singing and dancing down the street or in some choirs. Then he turned into a génuine stage performer. He talks as an Afro-european, about his life, his journey, his music, his influences but about love and struggle as well. Outstretched between Africa and Europe, he shares his two-faces culture with us. His music is a smooth blend of soul, Hip Hop, funk and African chants. He sings in Kikongo and Lingala and his lyrics speak straights to our hearts. With drums, bass, keyboards and slamming percussions on stage, his unbelievable voice sounds great as an instrument by itself. Now let the music play…
ORCHESTRE INTERNATIONAL DU VETEX is a weird musical collective playing a mixture of latin influenced brassmusic, a fascinating and colourful liveband playing both on squares as on stages. From the streets and squares from Sarajevo, Belgrade to the metro in Prague, from accordion festivals in Wazemmes to prestigious jazz- and worldfestivals in Montreal, Graz, Krakow, Torino…
